Obverse: bust of Hormizd IV facing right, wearing a crown decorated with a diadem, star at right and a star in a crescent at left, triangle of three dots above the ear and as an earring, beaded necklace with central triangle of three dots; rim of pearls, crown topped with a korymbos; outside the rim three crescents with stars; Pahlavi legend. Reverse: fire altar; left of altar the ruler stands facing, holding a sword; right of altar a priest stands facing, holding a sword; top left a star, top right a crescent; signs/monograms at sides; pearl rim; Pahlavi legend. Sassanid art/Kingdom; Persia (Iran); coin dated 579–590. Coin: diameter 29.0 × 31.0 mm; weight 4.10 g.
