Drachma, Khosroes II Anoshirvan (ruler of Persia; 531–579). Obverse: bust of Khosroes I facing right; crown with a crescent topped by a korymbos, a crescent with a star at right and a star at left, short curly beard, hair tied back in a lock, beads on the neck (central one made of three triangular beads), a second long chain around the neck, earring of three triangular beads; Pahlavi legend. Reverse: fire altar; left of altar the ruler stands facing forward holding a sword, right of altar a priest stands facing forward holding a sword; star at top left and crescent at top right, signs/monograms on both sides; pearl rim; Pahlavi legend. Date: 537–579. Persia (Sassanid Kingdom). Coin: diameter 27.0 mm, weight 3.15 g. Sassanid art; motifs: swords, busts, crowns, altars, moons, korymbos.
