Sestertius of Hadrian (76–138; Roman emperor 117–138). Obverse: bust of Hadrian facing right wearing a laurel wreath; rim inscription IMPCAESARTRAIANHADRIANVSAVG. Reverse: Minerva standing left, dressed in a long robe and wearing a helmet; in her right hand she holds incense/a gift which she throws onto a candelabrum opposite her, in her left hand she holds a spear vertically; behind her a shield rests on her leg with a snake crawling on it; on both sides: SC; inscription at the bottom: PM TR P COS III. Date: 121–122. Rome, Roman Empire (27 BC–476). Coin; weight 25.67 g.
