Sestertius of Trajan (53–117; Roman emperor 98–117). Obverse: bust of Trajan with laurel wreath facing right; rim inscription: IMP CAES NER TRAIANO OPTIMO AVG GER DAC PARTHICO PM TRP COS VI PP. Reverse: Trajan stands facing right in military costume, his right hand rests on a vertical spear, in his left hand he holds a parazonium; the personification of the Tigris and Euphrates sits at his right and the personification of Armenia at his left; letters SC appear on either side; rim inscription: ARMENIA ET MESOPOTAMIA IN POTESTATEM PR REDACTAE.
