Crown ducat by Ernest Dietrich Croll (fl. 1753–1763) for August III Sas (King of Poland; Elector of Saxony; 1696–1763), 1754. Obverse: Bust of the king in armour with a crown, right profile. Legend: DGAUGUSTUS.III.REX.POLONIARUM. Reverse: Under a crown a five-field shield between palm branches with the Polish, Lithuanian, and Saxon coats of arms; at the bottom the letters EDC. Inscription: SAC.ROM.IMP.ARCHIM. ET ELECT. Weight: 3.46 g. Made in Leipzig, Poland (minting context: Polish coin, crown).
