Obverse: half-length portrait of the king in curls/a wig with hair falling over his shoulders, in a royal mantle, facing right, with a sword in his right hand raised upwards; inscription on the rim divided by a globus cruciger: FRID.AUGUST.DGDUX.SAXON.ICMAETW. Reverse: lion to left, standing on hind legs, wearing a crown, holding a raised sword in its right paw and resting its left paw on a coat of arms and crown; coat of arms includes the arms of Saxony. Under the lion, in the rim inscription line, two crossed arrows flanked by the letters I - K. Rim inscription: SAC.ROM.IMPER. .ARCHIM.ET.ELECT.1696.
