1/2 Saxon-Polish ducat, Augustus II the Strong (King of Poland; 1697–1706, 1709–1733), minted by Ernest Peter Hecht (fl. 1693–1731). Obverse: bust of the king in a cloak fastened on the shoulder with a flower-shaped clasp, hair partially tied back; above the king’s head the globus cruciger intentionally pierced; rim inscription: MDLIT.D.SAX.ICMA&W. DGFRID.AUG.REX.POL. Reverse: under a crown, two coats of arms facing away from each other — left shield: four-field coat of arms of Poland and Lithuania; right shield: five-field coat of arms (two fields on the left and a heart field — coats of arms of Saxony; two fields on the right — coats of arms of Gotland). Below the shields: EPH. Inscription around the rim, divided at the top by a crown: SAC.ROM.IMP.ARCHIM.ET.ELECT. Mint mark: fish. Date: 1702. Place: Leipzig, Saxony, Poland.
