Ducat of Jan (Duke of Ziebice and Olesnica; r. 1536–1565), Silesia, 1561. Obverse: bust of Duke Jan with a long beard, in rich attire, left, within a pearl border; rim inscription between pearl-shaped rims, divided by a rosette: IOHAN.DGDVX.MVNST.SLE.OLS.COM.GLA*. Reverse: under the date 1561, a five-field coat of arms of the Duchy of Ziebice–Olesnica (two Silesia eagles, a chessboard, diagonal stripes and, in the heart field, horizontal stripes; the Silesia eagle and the diagonal and horizontal stripes also represent Zloty Stok and the Podebradowicz family). Plant motifs flank the coat of arms; rim inscription divided by a rosette between two pearl rims: MONETA.AVREA.NOVA.REICHSTEIN. Duchy of Olesnica (1313–1884). Coin; diameter 22.7 mm; weight 3.52 g.
