Lithuanian grosz on a Polish foot, Sigismund II Augustus (King of Poland; 1544–1572). Silver coin, 1567. Obverse: Crowned male bust in armour turned right, inscription in half-circle 'SIGIS...' and horizontally at bottom in two lines '.REX./.POLO.MAG/.DVX.L.' Reverse: Lithuanian Pogon (Chase) turned left, under the crown dividing the date 15 - 67; tied monogram composed of the letters SA and Columns of Gediminas (coat of arms of Lithuania) dividing the rim inscription 'MONETA.MAGNI.DVCA.LIT'. Diameter ca. 22.6–23.0 mm; weight 1.9 g.
