Lithuanian grosz on a Polish foot, Sigismund II Augustus (King of Poland; 1544–1572). Polish coin, 1567, struck in Vilnius, Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Obverse: crowned male bust in armour turned right, separating the inscription in a half-circle at the top: SIGIS - AVG.REX, and at the bottom in two lines: POLO:MAG/, DVX.L. Reverse: Lithuanian chaser (Pogon) turned left; below, under the crown, dividing the date 15 - 67, a tied monogram composed of the letters SA and the Columns of Gediminas coat of arms. Rim legend: MONETA.MAGNI.DVCA.LIT. Diameter ca. 21.7–22.0 mm; weight 1.74 g. Subjects: Jagiellonians dynasty, coats of arms, male/royal bust, monograms (tied SA).
