Crown thaler medal forgery by Majnert; Sigismund I the Old (King of Poland; 1506–1548); Majnert, Józef (1813–1879); Potocki, Andrzej (1861–1908). Obverse: Bust of Sigismund I in a cap and crown. In the rim five shields with the coats of arms of Poland, Lithuania, Royal Prussia, Red Ruthenia and Austria. In the rim an inscription divided by coats of arms: SIGISM P REX PO LONIE MD LITHV 1533. Reverse: Bust of Sigismund Augustus in a cap and crown. On the sides the date 1533. On the rim the coats of arms of Poland, Lithuania, Royal Prussia, Red Ruthenia and Bona Sforza with inscription: SIG AVG SECUND FILIVS REX PO LON. Medium: coin; diameter 55.6 mm; weight 51.50 g., A round metallic object with a raised circular central area containing a profile portrait of a person wearing a crown and a high collar, surrounded by a decorative ring featuring a group of small floral motifs and several shield-like shapes with embossed designs; the metal surface shows scratches and wear with a silvery gray color overall and small areas of darker gray and faint brownish spots.
