Majnert's forgery of the crown thaler, Sigismund I the Old (King of Poland; 1506–1548), Majnert, Gotfryd (1767–1846), Potocki, Andrzej (1861–1908), eagles, talons, crowns, coats of arms. Obv.: bust of Sigismund I in a bonnet and crown facing right; in the rim, an inscription divided by coats of arms: SIGISM P REX PO LONIE MD LITHV 15 35. Reverse: under the crown, a five-field coat of arms with the arms of Poland, Lithuania, Royal Prussia, Ruthenia and Austria. 1535. Poland. Coin. Diameter 42.0 mm; weight 26.77 g., A circular metal coin with a worn surface showing a central shield divided into sections containing heraldic animals and a small mounted figure, topped by a crown; the coin edge has raised beading and an outer band with raised characters around the perimeter; the metal shows areas of silver-gray, darker gray tarnish, and subtle greenish patina, with hairline cracks and dents along the rim.
