Lithuanian half-thaler (mezzo ducato with countersignature), Sigismund II Augustus (King of Poland; 1544-1572) — countersignature by Giovanni Battista Ravaschiero (fl. 1525–1560), publisher; mezzo ducato of Philip II Habsburg (King of Naples and Sicily; 1554–1598). Obverse: crowned male bust in armour turned right, inscription in rim: PHILIP.R.ANG.FR.NEAP.PR.HISP.; mintmaster's mark at left in coin field: tied monogram composed of letters IBR Rw. Reverse: crowned oval decorative multi-field heraldic shield; divided rim inscription: PO - SVIMVS.DEVM.AD, TOREM.N - OS -. Countersignature of King Sigismund Augustus: tied monogram SA in rim under the crown, dividing the year 15 - 64 (dating 1554–1564).
