Crown double-ducat, August III Sas (King of Poland; 1733–1763), maker: Ernest Dietrich Croll (fl. 1753–1763). Date: 1753. Material: coin; weight 6.97 g. Obverse: bust of the king turned right, wearing a crown, wig and mantle, with the Order of the Golden Fleece on his chest; rim inscription: DGAVGVSTVS III.REX POLONIARUM. Reverse: under a crown a round, five-field shield with the coats of arms of Poland, Lithuania and Saxony, flanked by two palm leaves; at the bottom the letters EDC; inscription around the rim: SAC.ROM.IMP.ARCHIM ET ELECT.1753. Style/region: Saxony–Poland, Leipzig.
