Gdansk ducat by Gerhard Rogge (fl. 1639–1657), struck under King John II Casimir Vasa (reigned 1648–1668). Obverse: bust of the king with crown, right profile, on the chest a chain with the Order of the Golden Fleece; legend around rim: IOAN.CAS.DGREX POL.& SUEC.MDLR. Reverse: Gdansk coat of arms held by two double-tailed lions; at top a wreath surrounds a branch with five leaves; at bottom the letters GR. Polish coin; diameter ca. 24.8–25 mm; weight 3.45 g.
