The clothing features a dominant palette of blue and white with various indigo and navy patterns including floral, wave, and geometric motifs, and touches of lighter aqua and pale blue on collars and sleeves; a few garments include darker navy and black detailing. Small areas of muted beige and tan appear in accessories and sash elements, and there are a few small accents of warm red and gold near the upper regions of the composition. Several swords with visible hilts are tucked at the men's waists, and folds and overlapping layers of fabric create a sense of depth across the panels.
