Two maces, after unknown paintings, draughtsman Aleksander Lesser 1814–1884. Gift; craft depiction of maces, military artistic crafts, painting, weapons, old weapons. Drawing glued across the entire surface to paper, which is glued along the top edge to cardboard. Date: 1830–1884. Medium: drawing on paper mounted on cardboard. Dimensions — drawing: 9.1 × 11.3 cm; cardboard: 35.8 × 26.1 cm., The image shows a pair of similar ornate club-like objects drawn side by side on a beige background, each with a rounded top and a long handle; both tops are golden-brown with a slightly darker shading and are decorated with a group of gem-like shapes in colors including red, blue, green, purple, and dark navy, with small circular and square settings visible; the handles are golden-brown with darker brown accents and subtle vertical shading, and there are faint pencil sketch lines and taped paper edges around and over parts of the drawing; overall the palette includes beige, golden-brown, brown, red, blue, green, purple, dark navy, gray pencil marks, and hints of off-white from the paper.
