Date: 1830–1884 creation period; medium: drawing/sketch; dimensions: drawing 26.9 × 20.8 cm; cardboard 34.2 × 25.1 cm., A pencil drawing of a person standing in a three-quarter pose wearing ornate armor and a long, curly wig, with one hand resting on a hip and the other near a draped cloth; the armor includes a detailed pauldron and vambrace on one arm and decorative elements on the chest, and the clothing beneath shows layered fabric and a sash tied at the waist. The face has a neutral expression with shaded eyes and lips, framed by the voluminous hair. Around the figure are loosely sketched drapery folds and a few background shapes suggesting curtains and architectural elements. To one side near the lower area there is a sketch of a crown and on the other side a small heraldic shield with an emblem. The visible colors are shades of gray from the pencil on an off-white paper with a beige border.
