The portrayed person, Antonina Mazurowska called Tosia, was the sister of the artist Kazimierz Mordasewicz and the second wife of engineer Wladyslaw Mazurowski 1848–1907, a graduate of the Zurich Polytechnic; they lived in Warsaw on Krucza Street. Wladyslaw Mazurowski was co-founder, later director and president of the management board of the metalworking company K. Rudzki i S-ka, responsible for construction projects including the Poniatowski Bridge, the Mirowskie halls, churches and public buildings, and bridges in Russia including St. Petersburg and on the Siberian Railway.
