Portrait of Michalina Zaborowska, née Miaczynska, Dukszynska-Dukszta, Emilia 1847–1898 draughtsman, unknown provenance. Michalina Miaczynska 1848–1927 was the daughter of Witold and Klementyna née Glinska. Around 1870 she married Ambrozy Zaborowski 1833–1890; they had six children: Józef, Jan Nepomucen Boniface, Cyprian Jan Michal, Maria 1875–1953, Zygmunt Jan and Teresa. Their daughter Maria married Jan Franciszek Rucz 1852–1903 and later Michal Komorowski 1875–1950. Her great-granddaughter is Mathilde, Queen of the Belgians. The portrait is characterized by meticulous attention to detail: Dukszynska captures the subject's subtle beauty and the varied textures of the velvet and lace of the lady's dress and the fur wrapping around her. 1873; pastel; 72.5 × 57 cm., An oval portrait of a seated woman with pale skin and brown hair styled up and adorned with a blue feather and a small gold ornament, wearing a dark velvet dress with white lace ruffles at the collar and cuffs, a greenish teardrop earring, and a ring with a yellow gemstone on her finger; the background is a muted dark green, and there are visible tones of black, brown, blue, white, gold, and flesh.
