Lithuanian half-grosz, Sigismund II Augustus King of Poland; 1544–1572 ; Tarlo, Gabriel ca. 1486–1565, mint manager; coats of arms: Jagiellons, Polish Eagle, Pogon Lithuania. Obverse: Polish Eagle, in rim between pearl-shaped borders an inscription: .SIGIS.AVG.REX.PO.MAG.DVX.LI. Reverse: Lithuanian Pogon, below the year 1563, in rim between pearl-shaped borders an inscription divided by the Axe coat of arms: .MONETA.MAGNI - DVCAT.LITV. 1563. Grand Duchy of Lithuania; Vilnius; coin., A round metal coin with a worn surface showing a raised double-headed bird motif in the center surrounded by a decorative border and raised edge; the coin appears mainly gray and silver with areas of darker gray and subtle brownish tones, and its surface shows scratches and uneven patina.
