Denarius of Caracalla reign 198–217 CE. Obverse: laureate head of Caracalla facing right with legend ANTONINVS PIVS AVG. Reverse: legend LAETITIA TEMPORVM; ship with animals running around and four quadrigae in the background. Rome; dated ca. 206–210. Bronze/metal coin; diameter ~18.5–22.0 mm; weight 3.14 g., A worn metallic coin with a circular shape and irregular, slightly chipped edges shows the profile of a person facing right with visible facial features and a laurel-like headpiece; the surface has textured, scuffed areas and raised relief details suggesting hair and clothing, and the coin displays a few cracks and dents around its rim. The visible colors are silver-gray with darker gray tarnish and lighter silvery highlights.
