Denarius, Antoninus Pius 86–161; Roman Emperor 138–161. Obverse: Head of Antoninus Pius uncovered to the right, inscription IMP T AEL CAES HADRI ANTONINVS. Reverse: Minerva standing left; in her outstretched right hand she holds Victoria, in her lowered left hand she holds a spear with the head pointing upwards and a shield resting on the ground, inscription AVG PIVS PM TRP COS DES II. 138 CE. Rome, Roman Empire. Coin; diameter 16.0–18.0 mm, weight 3.09 g, axis 180°., A worn round coin with a raised profile of a bearded man facing right, showing detailed hair and facial features; the coin surface is a mottled dark gray with lighter gray highlights and some brownish tones, with uneven edges and areas of wear; a faint raised border and remnants of raised markings encircle the portrait, and the background is plain white.
