Bust of Alexander Severus with laurel wreath and paludamentum facing right; beaded border. Reverse: VIRTVSAVG. Virtus in military garb and helmet facing right, holding a spear point down in his right hand, resting his left hand on a shield at his feet; beaded border. Date: 222–228. Place of origin: Rome, Roman Empire. Medium: coin. Diameter: 17.0–19.0 mm. Weight: 2.80 g., A round, worn metallic coin with a raised profile of a person facing right at its center; the person appears to be wearing a laurel wreath or headband and has short hair and a defined jawline. The coin's surface shows textured wear and darker tarnished areas contrasted with lighter silvery highlights. Around the edge of the coin there is a raised rim with the suggestion of decorative or patterned markings. The overall colors visible are silver, gray, and darker charcoal tones.
