Bust of Alexander Severus with laurel wreath and paludamentum facing right; pearl rim. Reverse: PONTIFMAXTRPIICOSPP; in episode SC. Securitas seated left, holding a sceptre in his right hand and supporting his head with his left, left elbow resting on the back of the throne; on the left side a burning altar; pearl rim. 223 CE, Roman Empire. Coin; diameter ~28.5–30.0 mm; weight 20.12 g., A round, worn metal disk with a dark brown and greenish patina showing a slightly irregular edge and surface; a faint relief of a seated human figure facing left is visible with draped clothing and a raised arm, and a few areas show lighter brown highlights where the metal is more exposed.
