Providentia stands upright, head turned left, holding a baton in her right hand and, with her left hand leaning on a column, a cornucopia; a sphere at her feet left; SC on the sides; pearl rim. 223. Roman Empire 27 BC–476, Rome. Coin; diameter 29.0–31.0 mm; weight 17.01 g., A dark round coin with a worn surface showing the profile of a person's head facing right; the head has short hair and a tied ribbon at the back, and there are visible contours of the neck and shoulders. The coin is mostly black with areas of dark brown patina along the edges and on raised surfaces, and the rim is irregular with a small chip on one side. The background around the coin is plain white.
