Made of fine yellowish clay, modelled in a two-part mould; the upper part, with relief patterns, is decorated with rosette motifs arranged symmetrically among delicate dots. The entire composition, at the edge of the lamp, is surrounded by an ornamental band filled with a chevron pattern. 7thβ8th century, Khirbat al-Mafjar, height 3.2 cm, width 6.9 cm, length 11.0 cm., A roughly oval, flat object with an irregular, weathered surface rests on a reflective surface, showing a muted reflection beneath; the object is primarily beige with areas of light brown and small spots of darker brown and faint pinkish tones, and its texture displays pitting, small holes, and subtle carved or worn linear patterns along the top edge, while the background is a smooth gray.
