Wooden base carved with an openwork pattern. 1736–1795, China. Vessel. Height 12.5 cm; width 26.8 cm., A single decorative bowl sits centered on a pale surface against a gradient gray background, the bowl flaring outward with a scalloped rim and smooth curved sides, made of translucent deep red material that darkens toward the base; it rests on a carved stand with a circular foot composed of repeated looped elements in a matching dark red-brown color.
