Tea bowl, Southern Song Dynasty 1127–1279, China. Stoneware round bowl on a small ring foot with slightly rounded walls, widely flared, upturned rim; height 6.5 cm, diameter 11.6 cm, weight 0.14 kg. Olive-celadon glaze with cracklework over a stoneware body. Exterior decorated with peony branches and flowers in shallow diagonal, multi-planar relief cut into the body; inside, six vertical stripes of lighter engobe run from rim to rim surrounding the bottom. Belongs to the northern celadon type, marked by shallow relief decoration and olive-green celadon glaze that accentuates recessed areas. A flat-profiled wooden stand is attached.
