Candlestick, Early 20th century, Korea. Candlestick on a round base transitioning into a two-baluster shaft terminating in a flat, round sleeve with a smaller one in the shape of a multi-petaled flower bud placed in the center; ornamented with butterflies and flowers. From a pair other: no. SKAZsz 2509. Height 39.7 cm., A tall slender metallic stand with a flared round base and a long tapering stem rising to a small horizontal platform topped by a petal-shaped cup; a thin vertical rod with a decorative element extends upward from the platform area and is connected by a short horizontal brace. The object appears to be made of a golden-colored metal with subtle engraved patterns on the base and faint surface markings. The background is a smooth light gray. Colors visible include gold on the object and light gray in the background.
