Censer with a cover, Censer with two long handles with mascarons. Decoration: two reserves—fruits and leafy twigs, animals and birds among trees. Early 20th century, Korea. Vessel censer. Height 15.0 cm; diameter 9.8 cm., A brass vessel with a domed, pierced lid sits elevated on a stand; the vessel is golden in color with a smooth, reflective surface and engraved decorative panels, and the lid has openwork patterns and a curved handle piece topped by a sculpted element. The body of the vessel is bulbous and rests on three tall, straight legs that connect to a round platform base with a scalloped outer edge and short curved feet; the legs and base share the same golden brass color and have subtle engraved motifs. A sculpted mask-like form is attached below the rim on the front of the vessel, and the overall scene shows the object centered against a soft gray background.
