Vase with a narrow neck, flaring at the spout; decoration on a brown-brick background. Kinseki technique. 19th–20th century Meiji period, Japan. Vessel; height 17.9 cm, diameter 7.0 cm., A tall, narrow ceramic vase with a flared neck and rounded shoulders stands against a smooth gray background; its surface is a glossy reddish-brown speckled with tiny gold flecks, and there is an irregular, rough patch of matte greenish-gray texture on one side that contrasts with the polished finish, while a thin band of metallic color rings the rim and base and the vase casts a soft reflection on the glossy surface beneath it.
