Vase, Meiji period 1868–1912, Japan. Cloisonné enamel on silver. Vase on a low, ring-shaped foot with a short, thin neck slightly flared at the spout. Decoration includes dragons iconography. Vessel; height 11.8 cm, diameter 6.1 cm., A glossy vase with a deep navy surface stands against a plain gray background, featuring a painted dragon motif in shades of green, pale green, turquoise, and touches of red and orange, with a small bright green and turquoise accent on the opposite side; the vase has a narrow neck and a slightly flared rim with a thin metallic gold band at the top and bottom, and its surface reflects light, showing highlights and a faint reflection on the gray surface beneath.
