Iconography includes samurai, dragons, fans, swords, and Kannon. 19th–20th century. Vessel; height 30.1 cm, width 39.4 cm., A rectangular black lacquer tray with a glossy finish and a thin gold rim shows a decorative scene of two inlaid figures near the center against the black background: a graceful figure wearing flowing garments in pale yellow, cream, gray, and muted green riding on or accompanied by a silvery white dragon, and a warrior figure dressed in layered armor with red, black, gold, cream, and muted purple tones holding a folded object and a feathered element; the tray corners are gently scalloped and the overall palette includes black, gold, silver, cream, red, muted green, gray, and purple.
