Vase, Cloisonné enamel on copper with brass rims at the spout and foot. Decoration: large roses and lilies, small flowers, two birds and a butterfly on a blue background kachôga. Short, slightly flared neck. Meiji period, ca. 1905–1908, Japan. Vessel; height 30.8 cm, diameter 10.6 cm., A tall vase with a glossy light blue body and a reddish-brown rim and base, decorated with painted floral branches, leaves, and blossoms in colors including white, pink, blue, green, and black, and showing a black and red butterfly near the upper portion; the vase sits against a neutral gray background and its lower portion is reflected on the surface beneath it.
