Vase. Cloisonné enamel on copper with brass rims at the spout and foot. Short, slightly flared neck. Decoration: large roses and lilies, small flowers, two birds and a butterfly on a blue background kachôga. Japanese, Meiji period, ca. 1905–1908. Height 30.8 cm; diameter 10.6 cm., A tall vase with a rounded shoulder and flared rim stands against a plain background, predominantly light blue in color with a band of reddish-brown around the rim and base; the blue surface is decorated with floral motifs including white and pink blossoms with dark green and black leaves, stems in brown, and additional small leafy sprigs in green and reddish-brown, while the reddish-brown bands feature small stylized flower accents in blue, white, yellow, and green.
