Vase. Cloisonné enamel on copper with brass rims at the spout and foot. Short, slightly flared neck. Decoration: large roses and lilies, small flowers, two birds and a butterfly on a blue background kachôga. Japanese, Meiji period, ca. 1905–1908. Height 30.8 cm; diameter 10.6 cm., A tall vase with a bright sky blue body and dark reddish-brown rim and base, decorated with painted floral branches bearing pale pink and white blossoms and dark green leaves, a few buds, and a single purple and red butterfly near the upper area, all set against a neutral gray background with a subtle reflection of the vase at the bottom.
