Vase. Cloisonné enamel on copper with brass rims at the spout and foot. Short, slightly flared neck. Decoration on a blue background: large motifs of rose bushes and lilies, small flowers, two butterflies and a bird kachôga. Japanese, Meiji period, ca. 1905–1908. Height 30.7 cm; diameter 10.6 cm., A tall ceramic vase with a glossy light blue body and a narrow neck finished in a reddish-brown band, decorated with painted floral branches, leaves, and blossoms in shades of pink, white, green, and dark green, with several black leaves and stems, a small painted butterfly with black and yellow wings, and additional small floral motifs on the reddish-brown rim and base; the vase casts a faint reflection on a smooth gray surface and is set against a plain gray background.
