Teapot with a profiled foot and neck, with a rectangular lid topped with a plastic figurine of a lion. Decorated with panels filled with a motif of a blossoming plum tree and birds, bordered with plant twigs the motif in the panels is engraved and set with metal. Foot, neck and cap decorated with plant ornament powdered background. 19th century, China, vessel, height 27.3 cm, width 11.5 cm, depth 8.3 cm., An ornate metal container with a square base and stepped pedestal rising to a rectangular body topped by a stacked, lidded section and a small sculpted animal finial; the surface shows intricate engraved and inlaid decorative patterns with floral and scrolling motifs, framed panels on the sides containing cutout shapes arranged as a scene of birds among branches, and contrasting metal tones including silver, darker gray, and touches of golden or brass-colored inlay.
