Ding incense burner, Chinese, Qing 1644–1911, 19th century, ceramic/bronze vessel censer; ritual/ceremonial vessel decorated with beast fantasy motifs, meander and leiwen ornament; height 12.6 cm, width 16 cm, diameter 14.5 cm., A small three-legged bronze vessel with a rounded bowl and a short pedestal handle rising from the rim sits on a reflective surface; the vessel shows a dark patina with areas of brownish-gold highlights and subtle greenish oxidation, and the bowl exterior is decorated with incised swirling and geometric patterns; the three legs curve outward and have smoother, shinier brown-gold wear at their outer faces, and the interior of the bowl appears darker and more matte; the background is a smooth, pale gray.
