Dui-type vessel with a lid, censer; Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century, made in China. Ritual/ceremonial bronze vessel with leiwen thunder pattern, meander and geometric ornament, lion iconography. Height 26.5 cm; width 26.5 cm., Provenance unknown., An ornate round vessel sits against a pale gray background, made of dark bronze with areas of greenish patina and lighter brown highlights; it has a short cylindrical neck and a domed body decorated with repeating circular and geometric patterns in low relief, horizontal banding, and some small holes and surface irregularities; two stylized handles extend from opposite sides with curling, cloudlike shapes, and the vessel is supported by three short legs carved with animal-like faces and paw-shaped feet, the legs and lower body reflecting faintly on the glossy surface beneath.
