Bowl, Islamic art. Metal bowl with a flat bottom, low straight wall and slightly rounded rim. Decorated with palmettes on the outer walls, fish, floral ornament and rosettes. 18th century; possibly Turkey or Iran. Vessel; height 4.4 cm, diameter 21.2 cm., A round metal plate with a decorative floral pattern fills the frame, showing a central rosette surrounded by stylized petal and vine motifs; the rim has a band of engraved floral and scrolling designs. The surface shows areas of tarnish and wear with mottled textures. Visible colors include silver-gray of the metal, darker gray and black in the engraved lines and spots, and warm brownish-gold tones along the raised edges and decorative details.
