Helmet, Ottoman dynasty 1299–1922, Turkish, Islamic art; 16th century, Turkey. Militaria headgear with movable cheekpieces and a nosepiece passing through the browband. Fluted bell. Browband and cheekpieces connected with copper rivets; neckpiece additionally hinged with brass. Weight 1.92 kg; height 39.0 cm; width 37.0 cm; depth 24.0 cm., A metal pointed helmet with a conical top and a small finial, showing a textured surface with vertical ridges and a weathered patina in shades of silver and gray, featuring a flared brim and attached cheek and neck guards secured with a group of small copper-colored rivets and a few brass-colored fittings and chain links, all set against a pale gray background.
