Helmet, Islamic art, Turkish, Ottoman dynasty 1299–1922, militaria headgear. Movable cheekpieces and a nosepiece passing through the browband. Fluted bell. Browband and cheekpieces connected with copper rivets; neckpiece additionally with brass hinges. 16th century, Turkey. Weight 1.92 kg; height 39.0 cm; width 37.0 cm; depth 24.0 cm., A metal helmet with a pointed conical top and a rounded dome featuring vertical ridged textures, mostly silver-gray in color with areas of darker gray patina, fitted with a lower brim and cheek guards. The surface shows numerous small rounded rivets in a coppery brown color arranged along edges and panels. There are a few small brass-colored metal fittings and hinges connecting parts of the helmet, including a few strap-like fasteners. One cheek guard has a curved shape with perforations and is attached by rows of coppery rivets. The overall object appears worn with slight surface scratches and variations in the silver-gray finish, set against a pale gray background.
