Vase, Chinese, Qing dynasty Kangxi period, 1662–1722. Blue-and-white porcelain ovoid vase with a flaring cup-shaped mouth. Shoulders with two applied mascarons with wheel motifs. Underglaze cobalt-painted decoration: figural scenes in two quatrefoil reserves; background plant ornament with small leaves and large floral rosettes, lotus tendril and lotus motifs, fans. Inscribed/signed. Vessel; height 25.5 cm, diameter 11.1 cm., A tall ceramic vase with a flared rim, shown against a plain light gray background, predominantly white with detailed blue painted decoration; the neck and lower body feature scrolling floral and foliate patterns in blue, and the main body has an oval panel painted in blue depicting a group of figures standing under a curved canopy; the vase has a pair of small sculpted handles on the shoulders glazed in blue, and the base area shows additional blue floral motifs.
