Decoration: two reserved figural court/figurative scenes on body and neck with background flowers, birds, butterflies and fruit. Thick porcelain body with gray paste and white glaze with grayish tint. Painted with overglaze enamel paints in two shades of green, blue, yellow, red, pink, black; overglaze iron red and gilding. 19th century, China; vessel; height 63 cm, diameter 28 cm., A tall, curving porcelain vase with a flared rim sits against a dark background; the vase is covered in dense floral and figural painted decoration in colors including pink, green, blue, red, turquoise, yellow, and white, with accents of darker outlines; the main body shows a profusion of flowers, leaves, fruit, and birds interspersed with framed panels containing scenes with human figures, all rendered in a fine, detailed style; the rim interior is a turquoise color, and the base has a decorative band with geometric and floral motifs in similar colors; the surface appears glossy and smooth.
