Vase with lid; maker, Chinese; Qing dynasty, Qianlong period 1736–1795; colored porcelain; flattened vase form; height 22.7 cm, width 10.7 cm, weight 0.65 kg; decoration: lotus tendril ornament and inscribed poems., A decorative bottle with a rounded shoulder and fitted lid sits against a plain light gray background; the bottle is predominantly deep red with elaborate floral and scrolling patterns in colors including blue, yellow, green, white, pink, and gold; the lid is decorated with matching motifs and a small white finial with blue detailing, and the rim and base feature a blue-and-white geometric border; a central rectangular panel of pale white is set on the front surface, bordered in gold and surrounded by the red patterned ground; the overall surface has a glossy finish and symmetrical ornamentation with floral medallions and curling foliage.
