Teapot, Tibetan, 19th century. Jug with a lid on a chain; dragon-shaped handle, spout probably in the shape of a makara. Decorated with dragons, makaras, and lotuses. Repoussé copper sheet, tin-plated inside, bronze-plated outside, patinated; silver-plated in sections. Repoussé spout and handle in low relief with inlaid eyes and copper rivets. Cover topped with a lotus bud. Lhasa. Vessel. Height 25.5 cm; width 31.0 cm; diameter 19.3 cm; weight 0.85 kg., A metallic vessel with a rounded body and a narrow neck topped by a domed lid with a pointed finial sits centered against a pale grey background; the vessel is primarily gold in color with areas of darker patina and subtle reddish accents at decorative fittings, and it features a vertical ornate handle with an attached short chain and decorative mounts, showing reflective surfaces and slight texture from hammering or wear.
