Teapot, Tibetan, 19th century. Jug with a lid on a chain; dragon-shaped handle, spout probably in the shape of a makara. Repoussé copper sheet, tin-plated inside, bronze-plated outside, patinated; silver-plated in sections. Repoussé spout and handle in low relief, inlaid eyes, copper rivets. Cover topped with a lotus bud. Lhasa. Vessel; height 25.5 cm, width 31.0 cm, diameter 19.3 cm, weight 0.85 kg., A gilded metal vessel with a rounded body, tapered base, and a domed lid topped by a pointed finial sits centered against a light gray background. A spout shaped like an animal head projects from one side, showing sculpted facial features and decorative ridges, with a band of silvery ornamentation where it meets the body. The handle on the opposite side is formed like a stylized creature with a curled tail and textured mane, also accented by silvery decorative inlay. The vessel surface shows polished golden tones with areas of subtle sheen and slight surface irregularities. The overall color palette includes gold, silver, and the pale gray of the backdrop.
