Censer, Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 18th century. Ceremonial/ritual vessel; backdated signatures. Material/subject: vessel censer with elephants. Dimensions: height 9.7 cm, width 11.3 cm., A small metal vessel with a flared rim stands on a short rounded base supported by three sculpted feet shaped like stylized animal heads; the surface shows worn patches of gold over a brownish-bronze patina with areas of darker tarnish, and the interior appears lighter with a muted golden tone, all reflected faintly on the glossy surface beneath.
